We’ve talking about budget software and various tools, but you know that many of these options will end up costing you money.  Free budgeting is an alternative that you might want to consider if you really want to pinch your pennies.

Free budgeting comes in many forms.  There are free budgeting programs and software available for download or for online use, but many of these may not be very high quality, offer the same range or perks and tools, or (in the case of online free budgeting programs) offer adequate security.  The best free budgeting comes the old-fashioned way: sitting down and balancing your checkbook yourself.
